Last week you were introduced to Jeffrey Katzenberg who is the CEO and Director of Animation at Dreamworks.  His candid view of where 3D technology currently is in general verses its growth that is still anticipated cast a great realist perspective on the industry and current progress.  Katzenberg brought up issues that they were facing as a production company there at Dreamworks, and how understanding the technology before the project is ever shot is vital to the success of capturing the audience with the content.

Mr. Katzenberg  went on to discuss the problems currently with the editing and shooting processes that are out there that are currently facing the industry with making anything 3D for viewers.  Katzenberg said, “The software platforms and solutions out there today is not what is igniting the imagination due to not quite being there.”

His outlook on the future technology developments with 3D were very encouraging.  Due to close relations with the manufactures that’s desired between both them and the content studios, much of the innovation is built based on improvement suggestions and solutions seen that are needed based on current content delivery methods.  Katzenberg said, “Some of the innovation that Samsung and others are working on with future models are going to deliver better content viewing experiences.”
