Highlights From The May 2011 3D Advertising Summit

3d-ad-summit-5-11

Recently Kerner Studios put on a day long 3D Advertising Summit in San Francisco, California.  If you don’t recognize the name Kerner you may recognize the infamous company Industrial Lights and Magic (ILM) which they branched out from a few years ago.  If you’re still completely clueless as to what this company does, you’re I’m sure familiar with some of their work.  Before ILM moved out, Kerner Studios was a very well kept industry secret where blockbuster films were shot under the direction of George Lucas’s special effects and modeling teams.  Their film and production roster includes Star Wars, Back to the Future, Men In Black, The Energizer Bunny commercials, The Bourne Series, Backdraft, and many more.  Recently Kerner studios have been the production standard for providing visual effects in the Pirates of the Caribbean series of movies, Transformers, Avatar, Iron Man, Terminator, Harry Potter, Star Trek Generations and others.  If you’d like to view their impressive list of productions both past and present, click here.

Training, Hiring or Outsourcing Your Social Network Management Part 1 of 2

hands-social-network

I’ve been asked often after my social networking presentations about the value that outsourcing of social networking for brands can bring to a marketing structure.  Even though these are resources that my company has offered to clients both small and big it seems to be a hinge point that more and more are wanting information about.

The approach that I provide people is the same whether it’s a simple free recommendation, response from an audience question, or a long term consulting client’s communication strategy.  The method is not as simple as saying yes or no, but it is as simple as defining some key structure points in determining if it’s right for an individual or corporation.

Over the next two blogs, I want to provide you with some specific points which you should take into consideration when it comes to either handling all of your social networking engagement internally or budgeting for outsourcing elements to create success in connectivity for your brand to audiences both locally and globally.

nab-2011-day2

NAB Day 2 Keynote-

Gordon Smith Chairman of the Board of Directors at NAB started the morning opening session out on day 2 of the NAB show in Las Vegas.  The focus of this keynote was on the support and political concerns as well as the future of broadcast television and radio.  Smith reinforced the National Association of Broadcasters core reason for existence in an ever changing technological world by mentioning that, “[We are] committed to technology, innovation and moving the industry forward.  We have plenty of challenges knocking at our door that could endanger the very nature of our business.”  He went on to mention however that, “The state of broadcasting is more forward looking than it has been in 2 decades.”

NAB 2011 Highlights 1 of 2

nab-2011-day1

If there was any subtle underlying message to the opening of NAB 2011 it was that 3D is NOT dead.  James Cameron and Vince Pace announced to a standing room only audience of their new venture together called Cameron Pace Group (CPG).  CPG is a company that’s design to be a supporting element and to help with the merging of the industry standards in broadcast and film while implementing 3D technology.  Cameron, who has been the creative force behind the two highest grossing motion pictures of all time, and Vince Pace, a world-renowned visual effects visionary and 3D innovator, clearly captivated the audience and had everyone on the edge of their seats as they showed off different sizzle reels and 3D footage from the recent Master’s Golf tournament where Pace was the supervising 3D production lead.
