Building off last year's widely praised production support for the Autodesk University International Convention, in which Evident Productions built a 3D capable, 40-foot screen to show off scenes from the hit film Avatar, Evident's management team decided to step things up a notch and move the entire production for the 2010 convention into high definition.
Back again was the 3D screen, this time to highlight sneak peaks from Tron: Legacy, the much anticipated sequel to the 1982 techy cult hit Tron. As its parent film was renowned for its computer graphics, the 3D upgrade had to wow, and producers used Autodesk's software to produce many of the graphic renderings and special effects.
This year, however, Evident Productions also designed multi-screen, high resolution displays and HD IMAG set-ups to display the content for all of Autodesk's divisional keynote sessions. Prior conventions had used low-resolution, standard definition screens. However, as Autodesk is the leader in 2D and 3D imaging design software, Evident decided the 2010 convention needed that added visual factor to match the amazing content being presented by the company's elite clientele.
Handling the logistics on two keynote events for the multi-day conference, Evident Productions provided technical design support and synchronized production efforts in order to ensure that everything ran smoothly, from the set-up to the rehearsals to the live event. Evident's team used drafting and CAD designs of the rooms to create preliminary visual renderings of what the keynote rooms would look like in order to best set-up the seating and integrate the multiple screens. The company also worked with multiple vendors to handle the behind-the-scenes equipment needed for the event.
Evident used a Spyder X20 system from Vista Systems to coordinate seamless screen switching, record output management and graphics input device video output control. Production specialists were able to quickly switch content between screens based on the needs of the speakers and different presentation formats on stage or in order to best highlight visual elements, providing optimal control over every presentation.
Evident once again delivered a home run for Autodesk, providing a high-tech, customized design solution for their event, enhancing the impact of their presentations and captivating their audiences without busting their budget.
