It was the job of a lifetime.
The chance to push boundaries, think BIG, color outside of the lines.
The chance to take cutting edge technology, blow it up, make it bleed and create musical eye candy never imagined before.
What I didn’t tell you in that story was that while most of the chickens were at the back porch door, there were two chickens that consistently went back even after dusk and started looking for those bugs, or food around the yard. It was always the two same chickens. They didn’t cackle much, but usually would squawk a very quiet and calm hello as you walked by.
People want to see values, and ethics not talked about or painted on the wall of a front office, or in a policy manual. They want to see it LIVED OUT. Whether it’s that late night help, or bail out call when it wasn’t required.
I share this story with you because I’m seeing a lot of “Shackelfords” and even some chickens out there today with the way the economy is. This goes across career paths and spans from high execs to the lowest companies.
The chickens and Shackelford had this tumultuous love/hate relationship. These Rhode Island Red chickens we found grew a liking for dog food and would be often seen staring down Shackelford getting inches away from his nose while he was trying to eat his food.
